Voicing an opinion that runs counter to the mainstream is sometimes being ridiculed and presented as fake. The pyramids of power do that directly or indirectly on purpose. Pyramids of power could be governments, educational institutions, newspapers, corporations, etc. Marginalizing and sometimes demonizing independent voices are a must do tactics. Truth hurts. They dub anyone with a critical viewpoint which is different from theirs a conspiracy theorist or fake. Conspiracy theorists are trending now everywhere.  

To sum it up, if you are consistent with the mainstream, your voice matters and if it is not, it gets deluded and classified as “Fake”.
