The Greek word crat means “rule,” and cracy means “rule by. Tracing the word roots, “democracy” comes from the ancient Greek words, (demos) people and rule (kratos). Rule by the people. This suffix “cracy” has given birth to many words such as democracy, plutocracy, autocracy, etc.
History tells us that the ideals of democracy did not even survive in ancient Greece. Demo-cracy was just a demo, a trial that never went live and implemented. Democracy was quickly replaced by aristocracy and plutocracy. The rule was by the wealthy and the nobility. Democracy has been a philosophy, an ideal, an idea and will always be.
There’s a quote ,“Vision without execution… is just hallucination.” So is democracy.
