Peer pressure

Conforming with the group and following its rules. This can be positive or negative. If we take religions, political parties, universities, companies, etc, the pressure is always exerted on the nonconformists to adhere to the rules or get alienated. We are programmed and conditioned to conform. Non-conforming, venturing into something new and challenging the established rules require courage and a strong belief system in accomplishing the desired change. Leaders who changed the world are prime examples.

What is wrong with conformity?

It diminishes the ability to propose new thinking and kills improvement.

It prolongs the status quo that must be disrupted.
