Are you a business leader?

Have you defined your unique leadership edge?

The widespread problem is that many companies confuse purpose with vision and mistakenly equate their mission statement with their true purpose. This lack of clarity around purpose leads to a deficiency in effective leadership. The absence of purpose means the absence of leadership.

Additionally, many so-called “purposes” are actually manufactured corporate statements that lack genuine meaning. Below are examples of inspirational slogans that fall short—they are superficial, amorphous and designed solely for appearance, lacking the guiding principle needed to provide true direction.

  • Saving the planet.
  • Caring for our customers.
  • Commitment to sustainability.
  • To produce unique products that nurture human potential.
  • We are in business to prosper the society.

A genuine purpose highlights the actions undertaken to tackle challenges and the impact achieved as a result. They are the two sides of a balanced equation.
